MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT IN POLAND IN THE LIGHT OF MULTI-DIMENSIONAL COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

The paper is an attempt to show the present condition of municipal waste economy in spatial aspect with respect to voivodships. The data collected for chosen diagnostic variables have been transformed by zero unitarization method and in this way made comparable. The transformed variables have been used as a basis for the construction of the synthetic variable describing each voivodship. Then, the ranking arrangement has been obtained, which shows the situation concerning spatial differentiation of the condition of municipal waste economy in Poland. The final part of the paper presents the division of voivodships into three groups - of high, average and low level of municipal waste economy.
